It is never too late to enroll! All of the daily lessons are accessible in our member's area (meaning that they don't go away after the week is over). Everything stays on the site and is accessible all year long. That means that you may join at any time during the year and go at your own pace.
Hello! My name is Cindy Koenig, and I'm a former Pre-K teacher, Kindergarten teacher, and elementary school librarian with over 13 years of experience in public education. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's degree in Library Science with a specialization in school libraries. These days, I devote my time to running my very own Pre-K program, Pre-K Pals Online.
Who is it for?
Pre-K Pals Online is especially for 4 and 5 year old children that will be entering Kindergarten in the 2022-2023 academic year. If you feel that your 3 year old is ready, then they are more than welcome, too!
What does our virtual school year look like?
The school year at Pre-K Pals Online is divided into 5 sessions. Here's what it looks like:
Fall Session: Sept. 6 - Nov. 12, 2021 (Colors, Shapes, Friendship, Kindness, Community and more)
Holiday Session: Nov.15 - Dec. 31, 2021 (Fables, Thankfulness, Gingerbread, Winter and more)
Spring 1 Session: Jan. 3 - March 11, 2022 (Dinosaurs, Dental Health, Space, Weather and more)
Spring 2 Session: March 14 - June 3, 2022 (Plants and Seeds, Spring, Chickens, Life Cycles and more)
Summer Session: June 6 - August 12, 2022 (Themes to be announced)
What is Included?
Each session includes daily (Monday - Friday) video lessons and daily printable PDF learning activities. Daily videos and printables can be accessed from our members-only website.
All of the videos are on-demand, meaning that you can watch them at whatever time works best for your child and your family. A new video will be added by 10 am (central time) each school day (and in many cases, the night before).
What does a lesson look like?
Each lesson may include some or all of the following and is built around a weekly theme:
- Singing and movement
- Letters and sounds
- Counting and numbers
- Story time
- Beginning math and science concepts
- Beginning reading concepts
- Fun learning games
- A daily visit from Penelope, our class puppet
